PART 2 OF THE HISTORY INCLUDES SOME FAMOUS NAMES AND LOCATIONS, A SHORT HISTORICAL PARAGRAPH, AND IMPORTANT DATES IN THE HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINES.THE COUNTRY IS LOCATED SOUTH OF TAIWAN AND NORTH OF BORNEO AND HAS MORE THAN 90,8 MILLION INHABITANTS.It is a republic with a congress and a president,mrs.arroyo. The country independance dates from june 12, 1898 in Kawit,Cavite,Fort Santiago: Aguinaldo's Shrine.

The history starts in 1BC when ancient Filipinos built the rice terraces in N.Luzon. In 1380 the Islam was introduced in Sulu,West from Mindanao island.In 1521 Magellan from Portugal landed in the philippines and was killed by the Lapu-Lapu near to Cebu capital on april 27.Cebu has the second biggest airport of the country.The history is dominated by the Spanish recovery ( Magellan)1521, by the usa, 1898, and by the japanese 1941,WWII. In 1946 the postwar period started with the 3rd Republic,president Roxas,in 1965 with president Marcos and in 2002 Arroyo-until elections in 2010. Dr.Jose Rizal is the national hero,see his RIZAL Monument in Manila,where is remains were buried.(19th century).he is the author of famous books and novels and pamphlets(Propaganda Movement,La Liga Filipina,he wrote part of it in Belgium and Zwitserland.)
